Hand-Foot-Clothing Contamination Monitor

The HFC product line represents modern stationary contamination monitors, designed for particular use at workplaces with open radionuclide sources. According to the user‘s specifications, various types, models and versions are available. For mobile use it can also be equipped with transport wheels and a hand grip. Depending on the version, the right hand detector can be taken out for use as a frisker probe. Similarly to the standard  HFC-monitor, the narrow version is also available with single or double hand detectors. You can also choose between vertically or horizontally mounted hand detectors.

Contamination can occur wherever open radioactive material is used. To secure the safety of the humans and the environment, an HFC monitor is a possibility to check personnel leaving controlled areas for radioactive contaminations. While standard hand & foot monitors concentrate on the contamination of extremities, the HFC HeadLine provides additional safety with an extra head detection unit comprised of two head detectors. This additional feature adds contamination results from the head – another contamination risk area, while keeping all the benefits from NUVIATech Instruments’ successful HFC line whilst providing a less expensive option compared to full body contamination monitors.

The industry proven HFC BaseLine is the basis of the new HFC HeadLine. It meets all expectations for a user-friendly handfoot-clothing contamination monitor. The large-area plastic scintillation detectors are completely gas-free, allow an easy maintenance and can discriminate between α- and β-/γ- radiation. The user is guided through the measurement via a colour touch-display with an intuitive interface and clearly displayed measurement results. The innovative additional head detector facilitates measurement of contamination on the head which can easily occur e.g. by touching the face or changing masks or safety glasses. The height of the head detector unit can be adjusted simply through the handle. The correct position is confirmed by light barriers and an audible signal. After the measurement is over, the unit automatically moves back to its starting position

6 Basic Models

BaseLine
Our HFC BaseLine model meets all expectations for a user-friendly handfoot- clothing contamination monitor. Like all our HFC models it can be upgraded with a number of options (see below) and adapted to individual requirements.

SlimLine
The HFC SlimLine with hand detectors integrated in the front panel is ideal for the use in small areas. Optional transport wheels and a handle allow the system to be easily relocated. Like the BaseLine model, it is available with single or double hand detectors. You can even choose between vertically or horizontally mounted hand detectors.

TrendLine
The HFC TrendLine incorporates the industry proven and well known HFC technology in an elegant housing. The state-of-the-art PC technology with large touch-screen allows intuitive operation and provides virtually unlimited networking and data transfer options, as well as connection of printers, transponders or card readers.

CrossLine
The HFC CrossLine is designed as a walk-through monitor. Like all our HFC monitors it has output relays available for door controls or other interlocks to ensure everyone is free of contamination before leaving the area.

EcoLine
The HFC EcoLine is a compact, cost effective solution in case only the hands need to be measured. This model is based on the same technology and electronics as the entire HFC line.

HeadLine
The industry proven HFC BaseLine is the basis of the new HFC HeadLine. Its additional head detectors add a further level of comfort and reassurance for both the operator and their employer.
